Rosa and Maria are mother and daughter who have a troubled relationship.

Despite not showing affection, Rosa makes courageous decisions to ensure that her daughter, Maria, follows a different path from her own in all areas of life. The movie takes us on an exploration of the lives of two generations of black women from the same family, revealing a plot of love, conflicts and mutual understanding.
